Nike Inc. The Ripple Effect

Communicate The Impact of an Innovative Social Program

Background

Girl Hub is a strategic collaboration between the Nike Foundation and the UK’s Department for International Development (DfiD) that uses an innovative approach to empower millions of adolescent girls in the Global South. Girl Hub Rwanda worked with girls across the country to create the first teen girl brand in the nation, Ni Nyampinga, consisting of a free, bi-monthly magazine and a weekly radio show, produced by girls, for girls.

Objectives

  • Communicate the success of the program: How it’s changing behaviour, perceptions and improving girls’ future prospects
  • Inspire the global development community and get audiences talking about, using and sharing the films in their own work
  • Show that it is owned by teenage girls, and is a growing movement with its own momentum

Solution

R+I created an authentic, quality piece of brand storytelling and frame the story within the theme of ripple effect and movement.

Result

The video was showcased during major annual conferences and used as a tool to engage high-level influencers, key decision makers and corporate representatives.
